His passion for photography started when he was 12 years old when his father who is also a photographer started inculcating in him the love for the art. Starting from the roots up, he experienced being a light man, during that time the monopod of the video light is even bigger than him. Eventually his dad gave him his first camera to let him go to every coverage and shoot whatever he wanted. From then on his love affair with the camera began. He also experienced being a short term apprentice for master photographers like Jun De Leon and Erik Liongoren. Because of his training with masters in the fields of advertising and fashion, the way he treats each wedding becomes an eclectic blend of documentary and photojournalistic aesthetics creating photographs that are natural, full of personality and passion.
Because of his love for travelling and experiencing different cultures, he recently focused more into becoming a wedding photographer both here and abroad. Based in Manila, Dar also caters weddings in the U.S., Canada, Australia, Asia and even destination assignments. He personally does all his weddings strictly one commitment per day. Combining his expertise in different fields of the art to shoot a one of a kind style in wedding photography, Dar Covers your special day in a very unobtrusive way yet still takes that extra step to capture those very special moments. He lets the day unfold before him, documenting your precious day as it happens, at the same time he also injects a touch of high fashion art and lifestyle photography to make the final album one of a kind.
For over a year now being a wedding photographer, he was able to develop a 12×19 panoramic coffee table book. His flagship album that can have 80 to 150 pages of your precious day. An album that is not bound of having specific number of pages that conventional pre-made albums have. A very crucial element for Dar’s creative concept. It’s a big yet very light album that is easy to carry around and even printed in the U.S. using a digital offset machine which is a major breakthrough in the printing industry. His custom-designed albums reflect his reportage style of telling the story through real moments and emotions to encapsulate that day when you exchange “I do’s. “Unobtrusive, unstaged and very natural…” That’s what most of his clients say upon seeing their final wedding album.
